We went to Clara and Josh's new house on Saturday. It has taken us four months to get there:( We had a great time seeing them; their house is so cute. Hudson got his boy time fix. By the way... Tim hates this smocked outfit but I love it.
Hudson and I took advantage of the surprisingly nice day today. We played outside and I made Hudson wear this ridiculous hat- Aunt Lauren, that was for you:) Hudson had his first practice day at daycare. He was there for about 5 hours. I did not cry when I left and was proud of myself. Hudson got an excellent report from Monica, the daycare provider, and he will be going to see her in spurts until the 4th.
Hudson is eating solid food! We have been trying to get him to eat carrots and winter squash but it has not been successful. Today I tried sweet potatoes and he loved it:) It is a messy task; I try not to let my OCD kick in and just enjoy the moment. He still only has the two bottom teeth showing but a top front tooth is beginning to peek through.
Hudson was 5 months old on the 21st. Time is flying by. I have to go back to work in 2 weeks, and I am dreading it already. Hudson has started to eat rice cereal and is trying to crawl. He still has only two visible teeth but more are starting to peek through.
My family was here this past week. Hudson got to meet his Uncle Kyle for the first time. My brother had just gotten done with hiking the Appalachian Trail. He decided to end his journey here in Charlottesville. He is now in New Jersey staying with a friend and doing odd jobs. He hopes to go back to Furman to finish up his education.
We had some professional family photos taken on Sunday. I will try to post them when we hear from the photographer.
Hudson was excited to see his friend Libby. Libby's mom and I used to teach together. Libby is 20 days older than Hudson. Hudson loves Libby and the feeling is mutual. Libby was fascinated by Hudson and his teeth... chomp, chomp:).
I tried to get a good family photo while we were on vacation, but I left it to the last day. I had all of wear the same shirt even though Hudson had spit up on his about three times before the photo was even taken. I wish he were looking at the camera.
My dad and grandparents took me to the beach. My mom did not come because she was sick:( No, she is not pregnant. I liked the sand and the sound of the waves, since my sound machine in my room makes the same ocean sound:) I did not like the actual water though. I enjoyed the pool much more. I liked getting some sun and relaxing in the sand.
The picture with the tongue and the foot is my favorite because it sums up a typical day of activities.
I had such a great time with my grandparents. The new game was to stick my tongue out at Mimi and there is a picture to prove it. I loved spending time with them:)
We went to Dataw/ Beaufort for the week. Hudson got to experience a lot of firsts. He went to the pool, beach and caught crab off of Grandpa and Mimi's dock. It was a nine hour drive and he did great both trips. We stopped twice on the way to let him stretch and eat. Tim and I were worried about the drive with a 4 month old but he proved our worries to be just that:)
Here are pictures from Mimi and Grandpa's back yard. The view is amazing!!!
