Our baby girl arrived on Thursday, July 7, 2010- a day earlier than her scheduled c-section. She was born at 12:32- only 2 minutes later than when her brother was born on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008. She weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces- just like her birthday! I was having contractions Thursday morning and went to the get checked. I was sent immediately to the hospital after the doctor checked me at 2 centimeters dilated. Luckily, my mother had flown in from CA the night before- as planned. She drove me to the hospital with not a bag packed and Tim met me there.It was almost as if the stars aligned for her to be born this day. Tim was scheduled to trade in his truck for a newer vehicle on Thursday night but got a call on Wednesday that he could pick up his new truck Wednesday night. And I had a babysitter come over on Wednesday afternoon so I could run a couple of last minute errands before my mom flew into town that night- one errand, I might add, was a desperately needed pedicure. Am I glad I got that done in the nick of time!
At the hospital, as the nurses were prepping me for surgery- mandatory because she was breech- my water broke. So instead of walking myself to the OR room I was wheeled down in a wheel chair. My daughter was very persistent- very much like her mother:)
She is a beautiful angelic baby. She barely ever cries- very much unlike her colicky brother. She was born with a head full of dark brown hair. Her eyes are blue but a very dark shade; we are not sure if they will stay blue. She looks very much like Tim. She has long limbs- interesting coming from two short parents!
Hudson and my mom both came to meet her on her birthday. Hudson is a very proud brother. He is extremely gentle with her.
